Let’s Build A Better Hawaii
I’m Liz Larson, and I’m running for State Senate here in Waikiki, Ala Moana, Kaka’ako, McCully, and Moili’ili. My number one goal is to make Hawaii more affordable – to ensure that our families can prosper, that our kupuna are economically secure, and that our children can find opportunity here in Hawaii instead of having to migrate to the mainland.
To make Hawaii more affordable I will:
- Make sure that pensions and social security benefits for our seniors are not being taxed. My opponent supports taxing the pension income of retirees.
- Protect environmental standards while streamlining the permitting process to make development more fair and transparent. My opponent is a principal backer of the act which allows government to bypass existing environmental protections.
- Encourage job creation by supporting bills that are friendly to small businesses and opposing bills that hurt them. By helping our small businesses, we create job opportunities for families. My opponent consistently votes in favor of job killing special interest legislation and regulation.
To keep Hawaii special, I oppose casinos in Waikiki and will vigorously fight the planned 650 foot tall Kaka’ako skyscraper.
We live in a time of great hope and potential, but it is a potential that can only be met if we elect legislators who listen to the community and dedicate themselves to working for the people, not special interests. That is the kind of State Senator I want to be and that is why I am asking for your support.
I know that if we work together we can build a better future for Hawaii.
Mahalo and Aloha,
Liz Larson
